They are used in the industrial field to determine the pressure difference between two different points. These transducers evaluate the pressure through a process known as inferential measurement. This measuring method calculates the pressure or particular variable by measuring other variables which makes the calculation of pressure much easier.
According to this, absolute pressure and gauge pressure can also be considered as differential pressure. Those are mostly used in areas where the flow rate has to be calculated.
